All or none

The truth about why diets don’t work is because they’re unsustainable.

 

If you’re required to cut out an entire food group, restrict calories, drink magic potions, or live off of soup, there’s a 100% chance you won’t last long.

 

The real problem with dieting is that an ALL or NONE approach isn’t a long-term approach.

 

When foods are “allowed” or “not allowed” and good or bad, you’re following an all or none plan.

 

With few exceptions, those plans fail. Every. Single. Time.

 

Because…real life.

 

I see people everywhere are clamoring for the formula, the secret, the path to improve their lives. Weather its diet, exercise, overall health; asking to tell me how you did this, so I can do it, too.

 

Give me the definitive plan. Tell me how to be healthy.

 

Tell me, tell me, tell me … and there’s better, solid how-to information available today about all those things than there’s ever been in history. And this is where confusion starts, you must understand that’s not how it works. If you’re one of the millions looking for cookie-cutter answers to the great questions in life, you can call off the search right now!

 

How to do it is not the issue.

 

If “how to do it” were the answer, it’d be done. It’s how you do the “how” that’s most important.

 

The Secret Ingredient

 

The secret ingredient is your philosophy. The secret is to change the way you think. Once you do, then you will take the steps you need to take, to lead you to the how-to’s you need. If you don’t change your thinking, no amount of how-to’s will offer a real solution. It’s not the “hows,” it’s how you do the “hows.”

 

It simply means changing your thinking. Your philosophy. The reason diets and other how-to’s don’t work for most people is the same reason most how-to books and courses don’t work for most people. It isn’t that the actions are wrong. It’s that people don’t keep doing them. Focusing on the actions (the what-to-do’s and the how-to-do it’s) is not enough, because it’s the attitude behind the actions that keeps those actions in place.

 

So, the next time you think about that new plan you’re going to start on Monday, just remember that if you won’t be eating that way 2 years from now, save yourself the frustration and torture!

 

Sustainability is where the magic happens. Falling in love with healthy foods. Changing your habits, changing the way you think.
