Before the start of this pandemic, I was on track to being in the best shape of my life at 52 years old. Spending no more than an hour in the gym, getting my training done early morning before work, moving well, increasing strength & mobility, and dialing-in on my nutrition (whole food based). Our business (KALFIT) was doing well and flourishing. Then COVID hit, and everything changed. After 6 plus years in business of helping others, we closed our doors and went home.
For me, spending day after day in the house came with many challenges, but among the biggest was the lack of physical movement, which leads to a cohort of negative effects like weight gain, depression, bone and joint pain, and a host of other issues. My original thought; was to take some time off and rest and recuperate. Instead, all of these aliments started and I couldn’t figure out why. So I created a home program to counter the effect. And that made a world of difference. In doing so, my wife and I gutted 2 of our garages and created a brand new training studio. Low and behold, we were back in business. A handful of our original members came back and have been with us since.
Several discoveries I made along the way
It is critical that we need to move (movement is medicine), the pandemic opened up an opportunity for me (we now train from home), I have created a new (tested & result) method of training that you can do from home, and realized regular exercise is a must for each of us in pre-pandemic conditions, but it is paramount in this new normal.
What we have stumbled upon is by exercising at home, we can stay healthy and strong in the face of COVID. We need healthy bodies to be protected from the virus and we need healthy minds to get through these difficult times and physical exercise combined with nutrition is the way we can get there.

What am I offering online that works?
Regardless of how much I know about fitness and nutrition, as a coach with my own studio here at my home, my original thought of not being able to physically be there with someone and coach in person put me off the idea of training someone ‘online.’
Even I, with all my experience and knowledge I am still learning and growing and sharing with others. And so a few months ago I hired my own online coach because I saw how valuable it can be for someone who wants to transform their health & fitness. People who follow me and listened to my story, they see the people I have helped but can’t get involved themselves because of location. So, it just made sense to get involved online to help others that I cannot reach here locally.
Before I go into the benefits of my FIT & LEAN coaching program, I want to clarify what is working with an ‘online coach’ actually means because this can easily be misunderstood.

It does NOT mean purchasing a program online without having any human actually coach you. This is not some app you load on your phone and then you are forgotten. No, we communicate with you, listen to you and get feedback from you along the entire way. There has to be actual ‘coaching’ being done.

This is the main reason I hired a coach. As a fitness professional myself, I know the strategies and techniques that I should follow to reach my goals. But having someone hold me accountable, who I have to report to, makes an incredible difference in my execution and results.

Hiring a Personal Trainer/coach is not an inexpensive commitment. People commonly pay over $100 for one session. Online Coaching is an opportunity to work with a trainer for a fraction of that price. Yet, the client would still get all the knowledge, guidance, and programming from the professional.
I found that I saved around 20 minutes PER WORKOUT after hiring my coach. People trying to train on their own, would end up wasting valuable time trying to decide what exercises to do, repetition scheme, rest time; ect…There was no game plan or program set beforehand.
A coach should have every exercise laid out for you 100% so you don’t have to think about it. We do all of ours with a video and a written description. So easy to follow and very time efficient.

This is a major reason I decided to create my online coaching program. I realized that those who couldn’t afford my in-person services or weren’t in my area could still benefit from my guidance.
I found that a high percentage of people who go to the gym on their own aren’t sure what type of exercises would help them see real results. So they end up on the treadmill or elliptical each time.

After spending over 6 years in the fitness industry in various settings, I’ve noticed that most people are on a constant roller coaster of being consistent for a while and then falling off track for a while.

They may lose some weight then gain it back a few months later.
And one reason I believe so many people are experiencing this is because they are on their fitness and health journey completely on their own.
