Greetings everyone,
With the onset of the COVID19 pandemic (March time-frame for me), I started to take notice of gyms and training studios transitioning from their brick&mortar to online training. And so, I did my own research regarding what I could do in this online market to help my current members continue building their health and fitness and bring in others who could benefit from my experience and real results.
During my research, I saw hundreds of online programs; “free body-weight training”, yoga sculpturing, 10/20 min metabolic conditioning programs, and so many others. The question? How was I going to compete in an already saturated market? How would I standout? What was going to make me different from everyone else?
I knew that if I wanted to break into the online market, I had to have something that would be reliable, works for people who are really serious, and most importantly, gets you results.
As a fellow health and fitness coach (with over a dozen years in the fitness industry), I want to start off by saying that I was initially very hesitant to get involve this online market.
My story: So why did I get into the fitness industry?
In serving my country as a U.S. Marine, physical fitness played a huge role in the overall development of the Marine. It was a must, it helped with promotion, comradery, team building, and leadership to name a few. I just retired after serving 20 plus years and the physical fitness program which has changed significantly still plays the same role in building the U.S. Marine.
This is where I stand out amongst others. That feeling of empowerment, confidence builder, and positive energy; I enjoy the physical drive (the work) while training and the mental/emotional connection, knowing that I am going to reach my goal (s). Why not share this experience with others. I believe I truly have the ability to create an atmosphere to “leverage” and “persuade” common everyday people to excel and reach their own goals. I have always wanted to do something I love and this is it.
Why are you so passionate about fitness? Why are you so passionate about serving others?
As a Marine, fitness has always played a huge role in my life. I can credit my physical fitness to my current success in my life. They go hand and hand in my overall development. It’s a lifestyle that I live and want to share with others. In other words, we want to empower and inspire people to change knowing that if you can change physically, the emotional and mental piece will carry over as well. It is really a special thing to witness. Watching someone who is overweight, out of shape, low energy, lacking self-esteem, and not knowing where to start, and then see this metamorphous transformation take place where there is a balance with all three psyche of physical, mental, and emotional being.
Why are you so passionate about serving others?
Without a doubt in my heart, I truly believe that we were created to help others. The challenge is finding what you love and being able to use it to serve. For me, it’s about seeing, feeling, and experiencing that significant change in others which is what drives me to serve. It’s that “change” that takes place inside and it’s different for each and everyone us because of our uniqueness. Finding that connection of mind, body, and spirit and living life to its fullest. I want to share this with others who have made a decision to change.
What struggles and challenges have you overcome?
Several. In the 2008 recession, I almost lost my home. As I watched my home dropped significantly in value, I was just going to “walk away” like a bunch of others were doing. But I didn’t, because I knew, ultimately, it was my fault for not understanding the housing market at the time. It was the “Marine” in me and the integrity I developed to “own” & “embrace” my failures.
So, I buckled down and waited out the storm. 10 yrs later, I sell, turn a small profit and ended up in my new dream home. That was the toughest financial struggle in my life. I overcame it, although it took 10 years (part of my journey), but I became aware of what I really could do in my life, vice setting boundaries and limits. During those challenging 10 years, I really took on a new approach to my life. I found my passion for what I really loved to do and hence my wife and I created KALFIT.
What life events or experiences have prepared you to be in the position you’re in right now?
For me, it was meeting my wife Aliya, it was her all along that guided me to where I am at today. I would always talk about it, but lack the action to move forward. She is the most honest person I have ever come across, and she has no fear of failing. She understands where and what I am dealing with in regards to my personal struggles.
You must understand, it’s NOT just about losing weight, or dropping bad habits, or being something different. It’s all of that and so much more. We believe there’s a different, better, and more fulfilling way for people to improve their body and live a good, healthy life. It’s about creating a better version of yourself.
What am I offering online that works?
Regardless of how much I know about fitness and nutrition, as a coach with my own studio for the last 6 years, the thought of not being able to physically be there with someone and make adjustments put me off the idea of training someone ‘online.’
Even I, with all my experience and knowledge I am still learning and growing and sharing with others. And so a few months ago I hired my own online coach because I saw how valuable it can be for someone who wants to transform their health & fitness. People who follow me and listen to my story, who see the people I have helped but can’t get involved themselves because of location. It just made sense to get involved online to help others that I cannot reach here locally.
Before I go into the benefits of my FIT & LEAN coaching program, I want to clarify what is working with an ‘online coach’ actually means because this can easily be misunderstood.

It does NOT mean purchasing a program online without having any human actually coach you. This is not some app you load on your phone and then you are forgotten. No, we communicate with you, listen to you and get feedback from you along the entire way. There has to be actual ‘coaching’ being done.
With that being said, here are the 5 major benefits I found in working with an online trainer and why it might be a great option for you as well.
This is the main reason I hired a coach. As a fitness professional myself, I know the strategies and techniques that I should follow to reach my goals. But having someone hold me accountable, who I have to report to, makes an incredible difference in my execution and results.
If you’ve ever had an accountability partner or coach in your business, career, or another area, chances are you know the impact this can have on results. The same goes for your fitness.
Hiring a Personal Trainer is not an inexpensive commitment. People commonly pay over $100 for one session. Online Coaching is an opportunity to work with a trainer for a fraction of that price. Yet, the client would still get all the knowledge, guidance, and programming from the professional.
I found that I saved around 20 minutes PER WORKOUT after hiring my coach. People trying to train on their own, would show up to the gym and decide what exercises to do what time they had there. There was no game plan or program set beforehand. Which left a few minutes here and there for deciding on exercises, and letting rest periods linger on.
A coach should have every exercise laid out for you 100% so you don’t have to think about it. We do all of ours with a video and a written description. So easy to follow and very time efficient.
This is a major reason I decided to create my online coaching program. I realized that those who couldn’t afford my in-person services or weren’t in my area could still benefit from my guidance.
I found that a high percentage of people who go to the gym on their own aren’t sure what type of exercises would help them see real results. So they end up on the treadmill or elliptical each time.

After spending over 6 years in the fitness industry in various settings, I’ve noticed that most people are on a constant roller coaster of being consistent for a while and then falling off track for a while.

And one reason I believe so many people are experiencing this is because they are on their fitness and health journey completely on their own.
